Backyard Ecology

Starting with the client's needs of creating a garden as a habitat, we worked with the land and grades as much as possible to stabilize the soil and direct water away from the home. Layering both native and non native species throughout brought in the rich textures of the oak woodland community right outside their back door.

Real stacked stone walls, stained wood decks, walks, and a pergola finish the project and further the connection with the earth. The final product is a series of spaces for both humans and animals to thrive.
